All materials used are carefully chosen for a long lasting
unique look.
POLYMER BEADS
Polymer clay
beads are individually hand crafted by Marianne Brender. Polymer
is a durable, non-toxic, oven-bake clay. These beads are
relatively light-weight and water-safe. Color is solid, so will
not fade or peel. Because these beads are made individually, there
will be variances in size and design.
You may wash these beads with a mild detergent, but they should never
go in a washer or dryer.
Lampwork Glass Beads
These glass beads are also individually hand crafted by Marianne Brender.
You will begin seeing more of these beads used in the jewelry on these pages.
SILVER-PLATED
GLASS
These beads will
tarnish a bit over time. A little jewelry cleaner on a Q-tip
or soft cloth works wonders. The silver plate on these particular
beads wears well and does not chip or peel as readily as other
plated beads.
Though made of glass, these beads do not break easily. Note:
Because of hole size, these beads are not available on hemp jewelry.
GLASS BEADS
The color is
solid, so will not fade or peel. Because of the thickness of
the beads, they do not break easily. These beads are a variety of
colors, some made from recycled glass.
CUBE LETTER
BEADS
Plastic
letter beads are used for name bracelets and anklets. Metal
or silver letter beads may be special ordered, but cost a bit
more. In stock we have white with black letters and hearts, White with
colored letters and hearts, and colored with black letters and hearts.
IMPORTED BEADS
We have recently begun adding imported bone, horn, brass,
silver, sand, and various other beads to our jewelry. These beads come
from a variety of other countries including Africa, India, Mexico, and
the Phillipines. Please check back often to see new photos coming soon!
POLISHED HEMP
Hemp is produced
from the hemp plant. Dyes used are water-safe. New hemp jewelry
may be a bit stiff, but will soften with wear. Colors available
include Light Olive (Romanian), Natural (Hungarian), Black, Forest
Green, Navy Blue, Turquoise, Red, Yellow, and Purple. Rainbow and
Tie-Dyed Hemp are now available at 2.00 additional charge.
You may wash your hemp with a mild detergent, however repeated washings
will eventually weaken the hemp. Never put your hemp jewelry in a washer
or dryer- it will shrink. Chlorine and harsh soaps will fade the color. It
is not recommended you wear your hemp jewelry in a chlorinated pool.
LEATHER CORD
This cord is genuine
leather. Black is used primarily, though is also available
in a variety of colors- just ask. Sizes used for jewelry are 2mm thick
single strand, or 1mm thick braided.
FINDINGS
Coil ends, jump
rings, lanyard hook clasps, earring wires, etc. are white
metal and may contain nickel. Nickel-free, surgical steel, silver-plate,
silver, gold-plate, gold, brass, and copper findings may or
may not be special-ordered...please ask. One of a kind jewelry includes
precious metal findings, unless otherwise stated.
CHAINS
Chains
are available for rice vials. These are 18" lightweight silver-plate
serpentine chains. We also carry ball chain.
